Reminders for Parents
Because your child is of supreme importance to us, it is our heart’s desire to provide adequately for their needs at all times. Please help us to care for you child. This information will help you help us to provide the best possible care for your child. Please refer to our Good Health Guidelines, below. There is a brief discussion of Security procedures. For more detailed information on Security, visit here. Contact the Preschool Office at 205.739.5368 with any question or concern.
Birth to 24 months
Put your child’s name on everything!
If you have special instructions, please fill out a Quick Check Information card (available at the Tadpole Park Desk) so we can print this information on your child’s name tag.
Always pack an extra change of clothes in your child’s diaper bag.
Give the teacher your baby’s schedule and keep it up to date as changes occur.
Please pack bottles only. Baby food will not be given and formula should be pre-mixed.
All liquids should be brought in plastic bottles or disposable containers labeled with your child’s name.
A nursing room is provided for you should you need it.
Use the Quick Check Station located at the Tadpole Park Kitchen to receive a pager. The pager only vibrates so be sure to keep it close to your body. Pagers can be returned to any of the yellow baskets located in Tadpole Park. For security reasons, your child will only be released to the person with the correct Parent Receipt.
Parents must designate where they can be found in case of an emergency. Parents must remain on the Hunter Street Campus during regularly scheduled events.
We are not responsible for personal items left in diaper bags such as billfolds, car keys, cell phones, etc.
Children at this age will often have trouble separating from their parents. We will call you if your child does not adjust. Please advise your child’s teachers if you would like to be contacted right away or if you want us to work with your child as long as it is not adversely affecting the child or the class.
All Hunter Street Preschool Parents serve in our PEP Ministry. This ministry provides care for our preschoolers during the Worship Care Hour after their small group class time.

Good Health Guidelines
Young children are very susceptible to cold, flu, and other diseases. We realize that a child’s illness can be a difficult time for parents and that it is often frustrating to rearrange your schedules to provide care for a sick child at home. We want to eliminate these concerns as much as possible and the best way to do this is to prevent exposure. This requires our Preschool Area to have the healthiest environment possible by following these guidelines:
Please keep your child at home if they have shown any of the following symptoms in the last 24 hours: fever, vomiting, discharge in or around eyes, green or yellow runny nose, excessive coughing, diarrhea, questionable rash, any communicable disease.
If your child is being treated with an antibiotic, he or she should have received treatment for at least 24 hours before coming to church. We cannot give your child medicine while they are at church.
If your child becomes ill while at church you will be notified promptly.
We also try to do our part to contribute to a healthy environment. Childcare workers and teachers are also asked to follow the guidelines above. In addition:
Linens are changed in baby rooms after each baby leaves.
Toys are cleaned after each session.
Diaper changing guidelines are posted in each room in Tadpole Park.
Hand-washing Guidelines are posted in every room. Teachers and children wash their hands throughout each session.
