LOCATION
Hunter Street is located at 2600 John Hawkins Parkway in Hoover, Alabama 35244. Hunter Street was founded in 1907 but we’ve made our home in Hoover since 1987.
sunday SERVICE TIMES
9:30 and 11:00am.
Parking
We are a large church family and our needs are many and varied. To best accommodate the Sunday morning parking needs of our family, we have provided a variety of opportunities to assist our guests, single parents, senior adults, those with mobility issues, and all others attending our church. It is our hope and desire that all of us will look first to the needs of others when seeking a place to park. Click here for more details.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
Our Sunday service is about an hour and includes songs and a message by our pastor. Our service begins with the orchestra, choir, and vocal team leading in music. Song lyrics are projected on a screen so you can sing along or engage in worship however you feel comfortable. After the music portion our pastor will give gospel-centered message from the Bible.
On Wednesday nights during the school year, we come together for a mid-week gathering called Midweek. This includes an evening served 4:45 to 6:15pm. Adults may take a discipleship class or serve in our choir or orchestra. Children have fun activities, sing, and learn about missions, and student worship is at 6:30pm in the Student Building. During the summer, we take a break from our weekly mid-week sessions and enjoy several special summer events.
SMALL GROUPS
8:00, 9:30 and 11:00am
When you visit, make plans to visit a Small Group. Small Groups meet Sunday mornings to study the Bible, build relationships, pray, and reach out to others in our community. We offer nearly 100 different Small Groups and would love to help you find one that’s just right for you. Ask for details at any Welcome Desk or use the Hunter Street Group Finder.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Hunter Street is a casual environment and we welcome everyone to come as you are. You’ll see golf shirts, jeans, coats and ties; slacks to skirts and dresses. Whatever you are wearing, we’ll be glad to see you!
WHERE DO MY CHILDREN GO?
During worship services, children, babies to age 2, enjoy a clean and safe environment in our nursery staffed by loving and attentive workers. Three to five year olds participate in small groups and in worship activities tailored just for them. Kids grades 1-6 attend small group and kids/preteen worship, while students attend small group and adult worship.
All children and student volunteers have passed background checks. We use a sticker system to check children in and out and a pager system to notify parents if their assistance is needed.
HOW CAN I MEET NEW PEOPLE?
The best way to meet new people and grow in your relationship with Jesus is to share life with other believers in Small Groups. We have groups for all ages and stages of life. Groups meet at the same time as our worship services. Visit a Guest Welcome Center near a main entrance where a volunteer will be happy to recommend a class.
